Titanic :)

I'm glued, im actually watching Titanic on Star Movies as i write this! :) Oh my, it brings back so so many memories. The first time i watched it was way back in 1998, it was winter, cold and I was struggling to study as I was having my Cl XII finals, I juggled between books and the not so clear screen as it was aired on cable and the print wasn't very good.

The second time i watched it was in Pune, at Vijay Theater. Sadly they did not have multiplex during that year, the sound quality wasn't that good but better than the cable.

Now this is the third time I am watching it at the comfort of home, with a slight breeze and comfortable sofa, good quality sound and whats best is it brings back memories over 10 years. That is what is making this watch more interesting than the other two. :)

True Meaning of Christmas

I have often wondered what is the true meaning of Christmas?
While growing up, it was more of the fancy stuff you know getting all new clothes, pressies, glorious food and of course the Christmas tree....Over the years, the list became smaller and smaller. It was still Christmas without a new dress, or presents under a Christmas tree.

So, what then is the real reason, or the true meaning of Christmas? It was while we were preparing for the "Love is in the air" Christmas barbecue party did it dawn on me the writing on the give away cups of John : 3:16 : "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"

Therefore the real reason to Christmas is simply the gift of 'love'...

Dated way back in 2004, CII-ER, Calcutta!!
It felt good receiving a hand-written letter, especially with the so many stamps required by our Indian Postal Service for a simple 5 paged letter from Delhi to Calcutta :)
To assure its delivery, the sender took the extra effort of sending it by Registered Post...else, who knows this simple yet meaningful letter would have been lost in transition. I'm glad i got it and we thought we'd continued this trend...Somehow we got too caught up leading media rich lifestyle....we got stuck with e-mailing as well :)

Nick Names....
We shared this interest in nick names, somehow each one is always linked to some incident that when we date back - we can't help but LOL and smile reminding us how little things like these also makes a difference....
To start with - it was

• SOUP n LASSI - who orders soup and lassi at the same time during fine dining...what a waste of time, effort and money :P
• BEDCOVER - for a birthday present...come off it!! ;)
  
• WILL & GRACE - Someone wanted to turn gay....I assume, no wait...I'm right!!
  
• SCREWDRIVER - hahahaha....OMG, what was he thinking??
  
• PHYSIO - We both shared one each...baby physio and kiddo physio
  
• MJ - if only i looked like her *wink*
• SOFTY n BODO - reminds me of our maid long long time ago...Phas!! ;)
• ICE QUEEN - almost dead, comes alive though at times - most recent December 5, 2008 :)
  
• W.A.L.L.E - how adorable, he was...
  
• APRIL - Thanks to 'Definitely, Maybe' - i love it!
